Current Event 18 - Dallas Mavericks

Saturday, November 7 my fiance and I went to the Dallas Mavericks game at the American Airlines Center. I was given these tickets for my 23rd birthday. Most of you do not know me very well, but I get a lot of things from my Me Me, she was a huge sports fan, and while I do not typically watch all of the Texas teams (Cowboys, Rangers, Stars, etc.), I do LOVE the Mavericks. I have been watching them for as long as I can remember. I have only been to a handful of games and each time I do get to go I have the time of my life. They won Saturday by over 20 points and we had some really good seats. When the camera shows the fans waving the "bricks" when someone is shooting a free throw, well that is the section I was in. No, I was not on tv but I was really close. I am completely in love with watching Dirk Nowitzki play this wonderful game. He has over an 85% free throw percentage, he has the best jump shot in the league, and he is a great team player. Though I had great seats, I will be saving money in order to be able to see at least one game in my lifetime at courtside. I want so bad to meet Dirk, and hopefully one day I will. I honestly hate the fact that athletes and actors make so much money, but it is I (and others) who put that money into their pockets. I do not like that this is the case, but I sit back and think about it, and I enjoy these activites (movies and games) so I don't see myself discontinuing my "donation" to their pocketbooks.
