This story caught my eye when looking for this current event to talk about. My fiance and I actually watched the story on 48 Hours Mystery. The whole situation seems very fishy. A 23-year-old woman was arrested on murder charges of her 2-year-old daughter. The news program went to both sides of the story, as it should have. My finance thinks the young mother is guilty, whereas I say that I still need more information. The story is incredibly sad. The things that make the mother suspicious are that 1) she was out partying with friends when her baby was supposedly missing 2) she waited a month before telling even her mother that her child was missing 3) her friends have even called her a habitual liar 4) the remains were found, I think, less than a mile from the house she had been living in with her parents.
I am still skeptical. There is evidence that she is the one that did it, but without hard evidence: fingerprints, DNA, anything like that, it leaves much to be proved.
I most feel sorry for the grandparents of the deceased baby. They have had to put up with ridiculous harassment. Protesters outside their home all hours of the day and night. People shouting out that they're daughter is a baby-killer, I can't imagine the stress they are going through. They still have all of the child's belongings, refusing to let them go. They are so conflicted with the knowledge that their daughter might have taken the life of their granddaughter. I hope that the right answers will be found and that they will get closure and justice.

Baby Caylee was last seen on June 16. She ws reported missing on July15. The grandmother actually reported Caylee missing. The mother, Casey, lied to law enforcement about everything from she left Caylee with the Nanny at Sawgrass Apartments to her job at Universal where she has not worked in over 2 years. She actually took law enforcement to Universal, walked down the hallway of an office building before admitting she did not work there.
ReplyDeleteAlso during those 31 days, a friend of Casey's (the mother of baby Caylee) loaned Casey the use of her car because Casey's car was not working. Actually Casey abandoned her car in a parking lot and it was towed. The car reeks of decomposition to this day according to local news reports.
While Casey was using her friend's car, Casey also helped herself to her friend's checkbook that was stored in the glove box. She cleaned out her friend's checking account buying herself new clothes, groceries, a new tattoo (Bella Vita) and manicure. Not one item on the receipts or videos show any purchases for Caylee.
As for the grandparents - they have also told lies to the media and law enforcement. They have sold photos and videos of Caylee to national news shows like Today, Larry King and 48 Hours. Some media outlets reported these news programs paid as little as $20,000 for one set to as much as $200,000 for another set.
While Caylee was missing, her 3rd birthday came and went. People from all over the country sent gifts. Many of the gifts were stuffed animals which the Anthonys threw in the trash. They said they were soiled or smelled. I am sure they could have been cleaned and given to one of the many charities in the Orlando area.
I could go on and on. The show only scratched the surface of this case..in my opinion.
